Chrysler Repair: 1995 Chrysler LHS: replacement pcm, 1995 chrysler lhs, chrysler lhs

Question
Hello,

I have a 1995 Chrysler Lhs, 3.5L V6 214 HP 190,000 Miles. I am in the process of replacing my current pcm due to it is failing. the pcm part number is 04606190, I am aware that the vin number and current mileage have to be programmed to the replacement pcm.

But I have to drive my car temporarily, until my replacement pcm arrives. Would the replacement pcm function correctly, if the mileage from the old pcm and the replacement pcm does not match?

Thank You,

Answer
The 'verification procedure' when modules are replaced evolved over time. I don't happen to have the powertrain diagnostic manual for a '95 3.5L engine, but the book for the 3.0L engine doesn't show their to be an incompatibility with their being a discrepency between the mileage readings. That is about the best I can report. It does say that if the pcm is changed, be sure to start the car 20 times so as to activate the theft alarm system if the vehicle is so-equipped. Otherwise that feature will not work until that has happened.
