Chrysler Repair: no start: 98 Cirrus, valve cover gasket, chrysler cirrus

i have a 1998 chrysler cirrus that has a no start problem i replaced the distributor 6 months ago and recently had this problem so i took it to a shop replaced the plugs wires and put on a valve cover gasket for good measure i also noticed the radiator cap was just a bit loose causingsome leakage could this cause this problem i know it sounds strange but this is a strange problem furthermore i notice a lot of people have this problem so i was wondering the quikest solution to this problem because the mechanic is talking about swapping out the dist. which i dont think to be the problem thank you

Sorry for the delay but I just found your question in the 'pool' where it had been referred by Kevin. Have you tried for fault code readout using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch the odometer window to see if the mileage reading changes to show any 4-digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know. If nothing changes in the odometer then get a free code readout at a nationwide parts store such as Autozone.
