Chrysler Repair: Right Blinkers dont work: 04 Sebring, turn signal switch, intermittent sound

Question
I recently tried to use my car to jumpstart another.Subsequent to that my right turn blinker is INOP,emitting a steady buzz instead of the usual intermittent sound. The fuses appear okay, how do I check the relays? This is a 2004 Sebring convertable.

Answer
Hi Eugene,
I suspect that one of the turn signal bulb filaments on the right side is either burned out or shorted to ground, but it might be a couple of other things as well.
There are no relays as such, only a flasher unit and the turn signal switch which directs the pulsing voltage out of the flahsher to either the left or the right side. So if one side works but not the other, it has to be a poor contact in the turn signal switch itself (try spraying some electrical contact cleaner in the body of the switch) or one or both circuits from the switch to the front or rear bulb filaments is open or shorted to ground. Start witht he bulbs, and if those measure OK then check to see if you have pulsing 12v to both sockets, and if not, then check the socket pins to see if either might be shorted to ground, and if not, then the turn signal switch itself must be not making good contact on the right side.
