Chrysler Repair: Ignition lock replacement parts left over?, chrysler grand voyager, electrical modules

Question
I have a Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3 petrol 2002. During a recent 5k trip to Poland the steering/ ignition lock jammed. The car was towed to a local garage and the lock by-passed so that with the aid of a screwdriver we could continue. The plastic covers were not replaced and I was given a bag of bit, mainly screws.. I am now home and have had a new ignition lock supplied to fit our keys and I have managed to get the old one out and the new barrel in but I now have a spring of 33mm length x 7mm diameter and a hinged piece of plastic consisting of two pieces that reminds me of an ear bone! Its sort of hammer shaped. 6cm long x 5 cm high and width of the crank  4cm.
There are no numbers.  The car is running without them but I need to refit them. I am not saying that the two parts are from the same device and the spring could possibly be from inside the ignition lock to ignition switch assembly?  YOUR ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Answer
Hi Barrie,
Probably the best thing to do would be to find a Chrysler dealer and check at the parts department where there will be parts listing on a CD which may show you a blown up view of the ignition switch and therefore the parts in question. I can copy 7 pages from the service manual about removing and installing the lock from a CD I have, and email those to you, though it doesn't detail the minute parts involved just the major pieces that would be likely available for replacement. If you would like those send me a follow-up question and select the 'private' option. Put your mail message in the body of the text. I otherwise won't have access to know what it is.

PS: I am sorry to have disappointed you with the above answer, but do you really think it is reasonable to expect anyone who was not involved in the dismantling of your ignition switch to be able to identify bits of parts from inside the device without having a parts manual, which are not generally available for the internals of electrical modules in any case? It may be that a parts counter will show one of those parts in their catalogues, but I certainly don't have access to that level of detail. Thus I gave you what I believe to be the only reasonable possibility.
