Chrysler Repair: Re-attaching hood molding, chrysler concorde lxi, 2000 chrysler concorde lxi

Question
After a snow/ice storm, the plastic hood molding on my 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXI popped up on each side and would not re-secure itself when pressed down.  Subsequently, I removed the entire molding but am unable to re-attach it.  How do I re-attach it?  It doesn't seem to secure with the underlying clips on the metal hood frame.  It also doesn't seem to rely solely on the adhesive strip.  Can I re-attach it or must I take it to the dealer?

Answer
Hi Chuck,
Nothing speaks to this problem in either the '98 or the '04 manuals I have. You might get an idea at a dealer parts counter as to whether new clips or a new adhesive strip or both will do the trink. If the molding is not permanently warped then using new clips and new strips ought to do the job.
