Chrysler Repair: P0403, egr solenoid, car moves

I have cleaned all Ports very well, Replaced EGR Valve and Solenoid as a pair. Car will run with EGR taken off. Lots off exhaust comes out egr port. car will not set the light in the idle mode or rev up   but as soon as you take off in drive the
light sets the po403 code but ONLY when put in drive and car moves

Hi Les,
That code points to the egr solenoid or the circuit between it and the pcm. As you didn't mention the year/make/model/engine I can't tell you what the wiring is between the solenoid and the pcm but my bet is that you have an issue with that, because you already replaced the solenoid. The egr is not activated at idle but only when you have the rpm/maifold vacuum that calls it into play. That is why the code isn't set until you get underway.
