Car Alarms: Checkmate alarm system for Toyota Camry 97, valet mode, toyota camry

Hello:
  I have checkmate alarm system for toyota camry 97 and alarm goes on and drains out battery.  I have replaced the manual alarm toggle switch with a new one. Is there a way to completely shut off security system?  When the security system goes on I cannot even start the car even though I put the key for starting.  Please send e-mail with your reply about what are my choices.

Answer
Only by unplugging or, removing the system and extracting
the relays the installer used. The door locks and starter kill
are the likely suspects. If frozen open, a relay can cause
a battery drain.

If the valet was replaced, and you went into over ride mode,
and the system is still "draining" the battery,
then remove the system and start over fresh. The valet
mode will not UNPOWER the system or, it's componants.
Removal and repair/replacemnet will.
