Chrysler Repair: Chrysler T&C Instrument cluster compatibility

Question
QUESTION: Hi Roland, Thank you for the answer to my 97 Chrysler T&C instrument cluster problem.
As you suggested, I'm now looking for a used cluster. Do you know which years of these minivan would be compatiable or I have to get the exact year as my 97 Chrysler T&C? I think 96 and 97 would be the same, but not sure about 98, 99 and 00. Will the Dodge instrument cluster the same as the Chrysler T&C? Thanks.

ANSWER: Hi Alex,
I have the '95 manual and the cluster is rectangular in shape, with a with square sections for the the gauges, and a separate rectangular section for the speedo/odo (or speedo only in no odo). The '98 is oval and the 4 separate  gauges are round. Which is your '97 more like?
The '02 is also oval, but only has 3 separate round gauges.
Usually the Chrysler and Dodge clusters are interchangeable. You could inquire at a dealer parts counter as to which other years are identical to your '97.

QUESTION: My 97 Town & Country cluster looks like oval and has 4 round gauges, starting from the left is a small rounded engine temp, then a big rounded techo meter for engine RPM, then another big round for speedomoter and then at the right is a small rounded fuel gauage. Thanks.

Answer
That would appear to be a '98 so that should be compatible. I don't know about '99-on. A also in the past noted in pencil in my manual that this instrument panel started in '96, so believe 96-98 should work for you. The test result should have been CODE after about 5 seconds, then you release the buttons and watch for a three digit number to follow. Because you didn't get a CODE that would suggest the cluster is 'out'.
