Chrysler Repair: 2001 pt cruiser stuck in limp-in mode, solenoid pack, power steering fluid

Question
Hi Kevin,
I have a 2001 pt cruiser 2.4 L non-turbo,97000 miles on it.  My check engine light has been on for a long time,it came on after I filled gas tank. I thought it was cheap gas .The error code was P 0601, and I was told that the computer is bad,and I need a new one. The car ran great, other than that distracting check engine light being on. The shop tried to clear code, and the  light would go out, until next start.Recent issues, power steering pump, rack,(changed 2x)the hose to power steering pump, and at random the O-ring blows out,and all the power steering fluid ends up on the ground.New error codes P 0700,P1596,P0601,P0605,then it did scan P0700 P , I have no idea what or why that P came at the end of the number.?It will intermittently scan with P0700, then either P0601, or P0605.When the rack was changed they damaged the clock spring,so when I got the car back the Air bag light was on and horn doesn't work. I drove a week or so,and for the very first time ever the temp. gauge went from its always mid point, and started rising,I immediately flipped vents to floor turned on heater,it went right back down. But,car had no power, kind of rough,it actually had gone into limp mode. The next day it was fine, checked fluids, added to over-flow for radiator.no more problems.A week later limp mode again,no other changes.now it is in limp mode, and will not come out.  Had car checked again, because it was a very rough ride. Seemed to be stressful on motor. Both engine mounts were bad.Had mounts replaced, and the car drove great. The next start still good, I drove 2 miles down the road, when I started it up several hours later it was in limp-mode again. I drove it home in limp-mode (2 miles), When I turned into my driveway I realized that I had no power steering. The shop sent mechanic to change out the O-ring and re-fill fluid.Still in limp-mode?? Tried clearing codes with a scanner.Changed the solenoid pack, checked wire harness for bad wires, battery terminals were cleaned and made sure connections were tight, and still limp-mode,and shop seems confused too.please help, any suggestions. Thanks,
Tina

Answer
so after all of that U still have it in limp in mode  and have not corrected the 601 error   U will need to replace the pcm  that should have been the first thing that U should have done. Also replace the tranny computer

P0601-PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE
P0605-INTERNAL TCM
