Chrysler Repair: 93 2.5L 4 cyl. no start, pulley bolt, crank pulley

Question
QUESTION: ok.....i got the bulb changed it was bad....and i got the following code/codes....1-2-3-5-5-5....i mean im sure i could look those up....but u may have some specific insight that may make it easier on me

ANSWER: The 12 means the battery was disconnected recently and the 55 means 'end of readout'. The 35 points to the fan relay so that wouldn't offer any help with a no start.
How about checking to see whether you have 12V on the - post of the ignition coil when you are cranking the engine over? Measure between the post and a nearby engine ground.

QUESTION: no juice at the coil or at the coil plug in.....i notice in a plymouth truck.....if a van can be considered a truck..... it says code 35 could also be an idle switch motor.....would this shut down the motor?

Answer
Hi Rob,
I just thought of another possibility: the timing belt may be broken.
Try cranking the engine, after removing the distributor cap, and look for whether the rotor is turning. If not, then that is what has happened and would also explain the no spark. Other than that:
No, the 35 code in the van is the fan relay.
I assume that you checked for voltage at the coil while the engine was being cranked, correct? If not, then measure again.
Do you hear the fuel pump hum for a second or so,  coming from inside the tank when you first turn the key to run? If so that is normal, if not then let me know.
If you don't have 12v on the coil, then I would suspect that the hall effect sensor in the distributor is not working. Go to the distributor, turn the key to run position and verify that there is 9V on the orange wire at the plug. If so then probe the other two wires with pins (gray/black, black/light blue) and watch to see if the voltage measured between them varies from 5V to 0.3v as you turn the engine over by hand using a ratchet on the crank pulley bolt. You should see that if the sensor is good.
I'll wait to learn what you find out.
