Chrysler Repair: 2000jeepcherokee4.7v8, jeep grand cherokee, programmer tool

Hi,i have activated the skis security system (key with slash on instrument panel)whilst jump starting my jeep grand cherokee.Now key light stays on and engine just turns,no start?I have been told that i have to take it to main dealer(£85?),have diagnostics(£175?) then have it fixed(£100 and up?).To be frank,i cant afford it!Was thinking of buying scan/programmer tool to reset the alarm myself(come in very handy for future problems)?Is this possible or have the dealers got some special (top secret?)tool?Would greatly appreciate an answer as car is sitting there looking pretty useless,while i continue paying for the luxury.

check fuses first
if they are good  then U will haft to take it to a dealer to have any repair work done.
if u want the scanner that will be able to do this yourself check out ebay and look for something called a DRB that is what U will need in order to do this.
