Chrysler Repair: 1994 chrysler concord 3.3 liter eng. ABS rear proportioning valve, chrysler concord, proportioning valve

Question
Driving home the other night my brake pedal went to the
floor when I pressed on it. Nursed it home and checked it
out. The master cylinder was low but no signs of leakage,
checked underneath and found a pool of brake fluid
underneath the gas tank. I found what I think is the rear
proportioning valve above the gas tank where all the leaking
was coming from. What is the best way to get to it to
replace it and also everywhere I've checked including the
dealership says they are unavailable. any ideas? Thank you
for your help.

Answer
Hi RS,
I checked my '94 manual and I am not sure that what you see as the leak site is indeed a proportioning valve. The manual shows those valves are positioned at the HCU for the ABS, which would not be above the gas tank. I don't see a detail of the brake lines but if the leak is above the tank and you can't reach it easily you may need to drop out the tank. Let me know if you need the instructions on that aspect. You may just have a loose brake line connector fitting. The dealer parts counter may have a diagram of the system which you can consult for details about your car. You may just have a loose fitting at a brake line connector.
