Toyota Repair: Burning Smell, toyota tercel 1995, toyota tercel

Hi Jack!

I have a Toyota Tercel 1995 LEI

Every time I drive the car, there's a burning smell. It comes from the back of the car on the right hand side. It's stronger in the trunk. I took the car in to the toyota and they took a look at the brakes and cleaned them and said everything is fine but I still find that burning smell whenever I use the car.

Do you know what it could be.
(It sort of smells like burning cable)

I really can't tell from here but if nothing is really obvious to the dealer it kind of boils down to the type of smell.
If it's possible could it be an exhaust type smell. If so then check the tail pipe and make sure it's intact and is going past the vehicle body.
Sometimes an oil leak from the engine or trans can allow fliud to drip onto the exhaust and it can smell like something is burning. Again if it was inspected they should have found this.
Last is we sometimes find where an animal has made a nest on the top of the engine and it makes it smell like something is burning.
Sorry I can't help  more but with out being there it is harder to know.
