Hi Tom,
I am afraid that I can't tell you specifically about the umc because I don't have a manual. However, the asd is usually on the driver side inner fender on the '91 van, next to furthest rear relay in the string of relays. But I doubt it is the relay, but rather some other item that prevents the relay from closing, for example a bad engine rotational position sensor. I would believe that it also has Chrysler powertrain control electronics, so lets treat it like a minivan.
I would suggest that you try for fault codes using the ignition key: "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, that remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause, then repeat the process to be sure you get a repeatable set of flash counts. Then tell me the counts in the order of appearance and we'll go from there. I suspect such a code will tell us why you have no spark.
