Question
ok i have an issue the engine is not getting any spark this has happened more than once the fist time i replaced the crank sensor......... 2 time i replaced the coil the center coil went bad...........however the car still wont start when i hooked the coil up the center coil would have spark but the 2 outside coils did not spark so i contenued to check the coil drivers i when i did that i found wile cranking only one coil driver was working so just to make sure the wires weren't cut or shorted out somewhere i took the computer off the car and checked the restince of those they where fine so I'm thinking to my self if the crank trigger is good the coil is good the wires are good what else is there to be wrong............ computer .......... so i went to my local salvage yard got a computer i don't know any thing about this new computer at this point other than i have a no start issue still i haven't had a chance to run any test at this point but before i waste my time testing do i need to have the new computer flashed to the new car or should it just a plug and play idem

Answer
It will need to have the VIN and mileage entered into it, but shouldn't prevent the engine from starting, unless you have a security key module which I don't believe '97 model has. There will be an error code in the air bag module and abs model if equipped but again it shouldn't prevent starting.
