What or why did he do this any IDEA? Boy has been without vehicle for almost two weeks help me if u can. I live 30 miles from him so have only attempted the new cam&crank sensors.

Answer
Hi Ed,
It appears that the toggle switch is a means of cutting out one section of the igniton switch that serves the items you notices as well as the airbag. Why, I don't know. Maybe it was due to a bad blower motor resistor block which caused the blower to run all the time, and that way how he stopped it.
On the no start, try the ignition key;"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Then let me know the counts in the order of appearance and we'll go from there. You might also want to disconnect the battery for a minute, then try to start the engine, and then do the same routine as above to see which counts are still present.
