Chrysler Repair: Hood Release Broken, hood latch, silver wire

I have a 2006 sebring sedan and yesterday i went to open my hood and i pulled the hood release and nothing happen so i pushed down on my hood and pulled the release again and i heard a popping sound and a small silver wire come out. How do i fix this?

Hi Diana,
I don't have a sedan to look at, but almost always there is a way to release the hood latch that involves looking up from underneath the car from which you can see the hood latch. There you will see the piece of the latch to which that wire coming from the handle was attached. If you push that piece toward the driver side the latch will release. That is the idea and I believe it will work for you. Then you replace the cable (wire) and the handle, usually as a single component from the dealer parts counter.
