BMW Repair: BMW 325ic, electrical circuits, electrical problem

Question
Hi Josh,
I'm the guy with the, I thought originally, a fuel problem.  Well I took your advice and started troubleshooting the electrical circuits.  The sensor for the firing is fine.  The cable is in good shape, I wiggled the hell out of it.  In fact I wiggled the heck out of every wire and relay I could find.  The 325 still gives me momentary shut downs.  At idle it shuts down quite often, when I rev it to about 2000 RPM it misses slightly but doesn't shut down.  I think the engine just stops vibrating so much.  I don't expect miracles from you because you're not here doing a hands on.  However if you have anymore suggestions I'm open.  I'm going under the dash to wiggle a few wires.  But after that I'm lost.  I agree it's an electrical problem.  When it shuts down for that moment the engine light comes on and it's like I shut off the key.
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlie Idyk

Answer
Charlie,
Have you checked the battery wires?  you might have a car with a rear battery, and if so you should wiggle the wires around the battery and see if that's the problem.  There are some extra wires that go strait to the battery, and they could be loose as well.  I had one break one time and it did a similar thing.  So check the wires on the + side of the battery.  Make sure the ground connection is good too!
There is a small wire that plugs into the starter, and it can wiggle loose sometimes, and cause problems.  Check this.
Like you said if I was there I would be easier, but you can still send me emails and ask questions.  Just make sure you let me know what you found each time.
You are doing a great job so far, so keep at it and you will find the cure.

 Good luck!
 Josh
