QUESTION: How many bolts are on the starter to mount it.  Does one have a stud coming out of it with a wire mounted on it?  And is it also a bolt for mounting the starter?  Thanks for your help on this. It's a Crysler Town and Country 2005 Mini Van with a 3.3 liter V6.

Answer
Hi Mike,
There are three bolts that hold the starter motor to the its mount on the bell housing. There are no wires on these bolts. You begin by disconnecting the -post clamp on the battery. Then raise the vehicle. Then remove the nut that holds the fat red wire to the solenoid switch on the starter. Then remove the push-on wire connector to the solenoid switch. Then remove the three bolts, and remove the starter. Notice the spacer between the motor and its mount for re-use.
Installation is the reverse. Torque the bolts to 35 foot-pounds, torque the wire's nut to 8 foot-pounds.
