Chrysler Repair: Washer pump, grand cherokee 2005, export model

QUESTION: I've WK 2005 export model (Spain). The washer pump is not
working and dealer says that replace reservoir + pump,
because this model not allow to replace only the washer
pump. It's true?

ANSWER: On the '06 model, the pump can be removed from the reservoir for separate replacement. The reservoir and pump should be removed as a unit from the vehicle to do that, and instructions are shown in the manual for that. So see whether at the parts department they show a separate pump/motor part for your '05, and if so order that. Then change it yourself. I can copy the page from the CD manual I have that shows how to r&r it.

Hi David,
I don't have an '05 manual so that is the best I can offer. If the dealer will sell you a pump/motor then I suspect it would have to be replaceable on the existing reservoir. Otherwise the design may have changed between the years. Verify that you can get it, then let me know your email address and I will copy the page from the manual. Did you verify that the motor is getting power when you request it?
