Chrysler Repair: 99 LHS - Fuel Rail Removal, upper intake manifold, gasket material

Question
QUESTION: Hi Kevin, I have a crack in my upper intake manifold where my ECT sensor is trying to install the ECT sensor. Now I am trying to remove it, but I cant seem to get the fuel rail out, it just wont budge with the injectors after removing all that is necessary to get to it. Is there an easier way or something? Please Help

ANSWER: Hi Marvin,
Have you considered using J-B Weld (2-part epoxy) to close the crack?
Kevin didn't have an answer.

QUESTION: I tried to go to some welding shops but had no luck getting in contact with anyone, went to some junk yards & asked if it could be repaired they said no, I'm guessing they just want me to buy their parts. I found one for $50. But I ended up taking the fuel rail off the injectors.

ANSWER: Thanks for the progress report. Let me know how it works out, please.

QUESTION: I ended up buying another lower intake manifold from a 3.2L I have a question about the lower gasket... Do I have to put any type of sealant on or do I just put it on a clean surface after I scrape all of the old gasket material off?

Answer
Hi Marvin,
Nothng other than a good gasket should be applied to cleaned surfaces. You may reuse the old gaskets if not torn or cut.  This applied to both the lower and upper manifold. Do you have the info about tightening sequence and torque?

In response to the leak situation: Did you verify that the 3.2L lower manifold was identical (same part number) as the one for the 3.5L? The torque spec is 9 foot-pounds. If the manifold is the correct part, then loosen the bolts in the reverse of the tightening sequence and then re-torque them, in 2 steps (to 6 and then to 9) using the regular tightening sequence. See if you can find someone to lend you a torque wrench.
