Chrysler Repair: Dodge Avenger P0160 error code, dodge avenger, code question

Question
QUESTION: Hi!

My 1996 Avenger 2.5 V6 with auto transmission has an check engine light "ON", when I read the code with my OBD2-tool it showed P0160 and something about O2-sensor circuit? =(

The car has 4 sensors, but which one is it, I would really appreciate a detailed answer for which one it is, I have been looking all day at the car but cant figure it out =(

I know there are one in front of the car right under the extractor, then thera are on behind the intake and two around the catalytic converter.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

ANSWER: The 0160 says the problem is with the right down stream sensor at the catalytic converter is not showing a signal. You will see two sensors at the converter and while there is some inconsistency between the manuals at to which one it is, the 'right bank' sensor is the one on the right if you look at them from the side of the converter on which they are located. Check the wires to see if any are damaged and if not then change out that sensor.

QUESTION: Hi Roland and thanks for your answer!

To see if I have understood it correctly, if I look at the car from the side, the rear end is at my left and the front bumber is at my right, the sensor that is giving me the error code is the one at the right of the catalytic converter?

A bit complicated text here but I cant tell exatcly which one you mean.

I have seen there are one broken wire that are "welded" togheter so there must be that sensor then, that the previous owner have fixed I guess.

I have one O2-sensor in spare but it is not the same contact as the one that's broken, can I just split the wires and connect it? Or should I buy a OEM sensor with direct fit?

Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hi Jonathan.
If the sensors are screwed into the converter on that passenger side of it, and you are looking from the passenger side, then it would be the right sensor (the drawing unfortunately is not clear as to which view it is showing, so I can't tell other than to say
'as viewed'). The drawing shows that the wider end of the converter is toward the front of the car in this drawing if I am correct in this interpretation. The fact of some previous repair also implicates it.
On the non-compatibility, I don't understand what you mean by split the wires. There should be 4 wires (two to heat the sensor) and one a sensor signal the other a ground. If you can tell me the wire colors I will check the wiring diagram to ID what each is for.
