Chrysler Repair: Cirrus side view mirror, upper radiator hose, correct tire pressure

Question
QUESTION: where is the thermostat located on the chrysler cirrus 1998 and how do you
replace it?

ANSWER: Hi Terrance,
Follow the upper radiator hose to find the thermostat housing in the manifold under the coolant filler pipe/cap. It is in the elbow that connects the hose to that manifold. Drain off about 3 quarts of coolant from the drain at the bottom of the radiator (passenger side) for reuse. You need a 19 mm socket and universal to get to it; alternatively you can hold a container under the the thermostat housing elbow and catch the fluid that will come out when you remove the bolts.  Remove the 3 bolts and take out the thermostat, noting how it is installed. Clean the mating surfaces and use a new gasket. Install and tighten bolts to about 13 foot-pounds of torque. Refill system with saved coolant.

QUESTION: What's the correct tire pressure for each tire for Chrysler cirrus 1998 , I
can't find it on the side of my door.. Thank you

ANSWER: The manuafacturers now days only refer you to the label on the driver door post for the pressure, nothing is given in the manual. I would suggest 28 psi as a good place to start. Then as you drive on the tires notice if the tread is wearing evenly across the tire, using a depth gauge. If they wear too fast in the middle then reduce the pressure to 26, if they wear too fast on the outside treads then increase the pressure to 30.

QUESTION: How do you take off the passenger side mirror on a chrysler cirrus 1998?

Answer
Hi Terrance,
You need to remove the door trim panel so as to give you access to a couple of screws that hold the lower edge of the triangular piece of trim that hides the mirror attaching screws. That is about a 15-step process and would best be shared with you if I xerox copied the pages with pictures included from the Haynes mnaual (#25015) or the Chrysler service manual and postal mail those to you. So let me know a postal mailing address and I will do that.
