Answer
Hi Jason,
See if you can get a fault code readout with the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer to see if it changes to show any 4-digit fault codes. Let me know if so. If you don't get codes see if you can borrow a code reader and plug it in the socket under the dash by the steering column.
The vans have had this problem when refilling a low tank where the vapor valve on the fuel tank lets frank gasoline pass through it which then gets to the vapor canister, and when the canister purge is requested it dumps the gas in the manifold instead of vapor which floods the engine. In that vehicle the fix seems to be a complete fuel tank replacement because the valve is not sold separately! But I haven't heard of this happening on the Sebring. Check the fuel cap to be sure it isn't loose.
You might also check your egr valve which may be stuck ajar.
