Chrysler Repair: 97 Caravan in limp mode: code 0760, solenoid pack, electrical failure

Question
Van went into limp mode. Change filter, fluid, speed input and output sensors. Cleaned ground wires to battery and added two extra grounds to engine. It is giving a codes P0700 and P0760.
Could this not be an electrical/ground issue? Would you know which pin or pin connections to check between the solenoid pack, TCM and the PCM. Is there a diagram that identifies the location of the pins in the plug at the end of each harness or connector?
I'm checking the wire harness between solenoid, TCM and PCM at the splicing.

Answer
Hi Holli,
That code says there is a lack of electrical response from the OD clutch's actucation solenoid. It could either be an electrical failure of the solenoid or a failure of the wiring from the tcm to it. The wire that connects is on pin 6 of the solenoid pack plug (brown wire) and on pin 60 of the tcm.
So check that wire for continuity between and also verify that it isn't shorted to ground.
If there is some reason to believe the tcm is faulty, that might be considered as a cause, but absent that and absent a problem with the brown wire, the odds are your solenoid has failed and you would need to replace the solenoid pack. Fortunately that can be done without removing the transmission, and by yourself with not very much difficulty. I doubt it is related to the tcm/pcm interface as that would impact much more than this particular solenoid.
