Answer
Hi Carl,
You could remove the switch and check the orange/white and orange/light green wires that go to the motor to see whether when you activate the switch to open or close the window you get a 12V reading between those two wires on the switch. If not, the the switch is bad (try spraying contact cleaner inside the switch); if you get 12V whose polarity reverses when you ask for up or down then the motor is likely bad unless a wire somehow got detached at the motor proper.
To access the switch use a wooden stick to pry it along with its surrounding bezel out of the door trim panel. Start prying at the lower end of the bezel and pry all the way around. You can access the wires by sticking fine pins through the insulation of those wires to reach the conductor and then attach your meter or 12V glow light between the pins.
If the motor is bad you can replace it without replacing the mechanism if you remove the plastic rivets and use screws and nuts to hold the replacement motor in place (according to another recent questioner who did this). You will need to remove the trim panel to access that. Let me know if you need directions on how to do that.
