Chrysler Repair: 1990 Chrysler New Yorker Wiper Linkage, chrysler new yorker, pivot screws

Question
Hi, Roland!

I have a 1990 New Yorker where the passenger side wiper has stopped moving. The Driver side works fine. I was wondering where I would go to check the linkage and fix the issue and what steps would be involved.

Thanks in Advance,

Dennis

Answer
Hi Dennis,
The steps to remove the mechanism and inspect it for part replacements are:
Open hood
Remove wiper arms
Remove cowl top plastic cover
Remove three screws from each of the wiper pivots
Remove three bolts that attach the wiper motor mounting bracket to the body
Remove wiper motor wiring harness
Remove wiper motor, bracket and linkage assembly from the plenum
Disassemble as necessary on a bench.
Assembly is:
Install motor/bracket/linkage in plenum
Attach wire harness to motor
Loosely install pivot and their 3 screws
Secure the mounting bracket to the body
Tighted the pivot screws
Install plastic cover, install wiper arms.
In this process you will identify the cause of the passenger side not working. You can probably get the part you need at a pull-it-yourself type of wrecking yard.
