Chrysler Repair: 1995 chrysler cirrus: flooding in cabin, chrysler cirrus, 1995 chrysler cirrus

Question
My daughter has a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus. The other night after severe heavy rains and wind, there was almost 2 inches of standing water in her front nd rear driver side floorboards. We checked all the usual places where you would expect water to leak in from but found no evidence of it. Do you have any other ideas of places to look? She has been n heavy rains before and this has not happened.

Answer
Hi Trisha,
I would suspect that the air intake plenum, located in front of the windshield, filled with water and it drained into the heating/ac housing and then onto the floors. It would do that if the drain holes at the far right end of the plenum were plugged with debris. So remove the grille that covers the air intake and clean out all the debris that is located at the far end (passenger side) of the plenum chamber to prevent this happening again.
