sometimes put key in only have seatbelt light dash does not power up and car wont crank lick battery dead alt at 13.9 volts and i tried new battery checked all grounds any thoughts on this very intermittent also if jump start my work may not

Hi Tommy,
I suspect you have an ignition switch with a poor contact in one of the several sections. You can verify this when it happens again by checking for voltage to be present or not on fuses 13,14,21,22 in the fuse box that is behind the end cap on the left end of the dash. If they don't show 12V when the key is in the run and the start positions then the switch is bad. You could remove the cover on the underside of the steering column and spray some electronic circuit board cleaner inside the switch with a 'straw' through a crack in the switch body in order to possibly improve the internal contact. It might also be the case that fuse G in the power distribution box in the engine compartment has a subtle crack in its internal wire, so check that out too. It feeds the ignition switch section that I have pointed toward.
