Chrysler Repair: Ground problem on 97 Concorde 3.5 L, altinator, grounding wire

Question
My car seems to have a ground problem somewhere. My battery lite keeps coming on on the dash and I put a new battery and checked the altinator on it and its working.   Could you tell me where I would find the ground wire on the car seems to be ok as long as I boost with another vehicle but as soon as i disconnect the cables it stops.

Thank you for trying to help me with this problem in advance.

Answer
Hi John,
There are two ground wires on the - post clamp of the battery. This is the case in your car if the battery is on the driver side. One goes to the nearby left frame rail, the other goes to the left front of the engine. This is as shown in the '94 manual.
The '98 manual manual (where the battery is on the right side) shows only one wire on the - clamp and it goes to a point near the power distribution box under the hood, but doesn't say exactly where. The other powertrain grounding wire that also attaches to the point near the distribution box comes from the transmission case.
I would just follow the black wires on the - clamp to whereever they lead you and see if the connections are clean/shiney/tight. And if there is only one such wire (like the '98) then find the ground wire bolted to the transmission case.
