Chrysler Repair: driver side head lamp: 06 Sebring, jumper cables, chrysler sebring

Question
2006 chrysler sebring 4 cyl. I have the replacement bulb for the lamp but it looks like one huge undertaking just to get the old one out and the new one in. behind it is something I'm not familiar with before you get to the contact points for the jumper cables. HELP.......

Answer
Hi Allen,
I don't have the '06 manual so I can't be certain about the procedure for that model year. It appears that the entire unit has to be removed. The '05 manual shows only info for the export model. It says to disconnect the battery, then "remove two retainer screws" and shows those to be at either end of the unit, and then "remove the upper fascia retainers (the fascia is the name that is applied to the bumper covering) by prying under fasteners with a flat blade tool. Remove unit from fender side first." Once the unit is out you remove the electrical connector from the bulb, and then the bulb retaining ring. I hope this might be of some help to you. For some unknown reason the CD I have for the '05 manual only deals with the export version of the headlamps.
