Chrysler Repair: 1994 Intrepid: voltage regulation?, necessary level, scan tool

Question
I have a 1994 intrepid ,6 cylinder ,i have replaced the original ecu , 2 times ,with used ecu's because i will get a check engine light to come on. The scan tool tells me that the voltage regulator is bad .The voltage regulator is built on the ecu. What do you think is causing me this problem ,thank you very much ,Joe

Answer
Hi Joe,
What is the specific fault code number? The issue as I recall it, is not that the voltage regulation function of the ecu is bad, but rather that the charging system as a whole is not
producing the necessary level of voltage which also could be a wiring issue or an issue with the alternator. If you will tell me what fault code you have I can be specific as to what might be the cause.
