Chrysler Repair: 98 Neon: no spark, crank sensor, dodge neon

Question
I have a 98 dodge neon sohc, I got my car out of winter storage last week and it took longer then normal to start. ( crank then catch but delayed) then today after driving around it would crank but not catch. I can't remeber what
my resistance across the terminals on the coil are suppose to be, and are there other ways to test the sensors with out cranking and reading the voltage...
Thank you , nigel

Answer
Hi Nigel,
Try the ignition key to get any fault codes:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch to see if the mileage reading changes instead to show 4 digit fault codes OR whether the check engine light, which remains 'on', starts to flash, pause, flash, etc. Tell me the results of either approach.
The primary coil should read 0.45-0.65 ohms, and the secondary 11,500-13,500 (steel towers).
The codes are the best way to check the sensors, but you could turn the engine over by hand and watch the voltage between the signal and sensor ground wires of both sensors. Those would be the gray/black and black/light blue for the crank sensor and the tan/yellow and black/light blue for the cam sensor. The voltage should pulse between 0.5 and 5V as you rotate the crankshaft.
