Chrysler Repair: 95 Neon Acceleration Problems, acceleration problems, plymouth neon

Question
I have a 1995 Plymouth Neon.  As I try to accelerate from low speeds or up-hill, the engine just has no power.  No matter how far I press in the accelerator, nothing changes.  If I lightly press on the peddle it seems to do better.  However, at speeds of 60+ the engine has less trouble accelerating.  I have replaced both O2 sensors and the car runs noticeably better, but not normal.  I did not unplug the battery at all during replacing the O2 sensors.  I appreciate any further communication we may have.

Thank you

Answer
Hi Andrew,
Did you try to get the fault codes using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time? Then watch the check engine light, which remains "on" to see it begin to flash, pause, flash. etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Tell me the counts in order of appearance and we'll go from there. If you have done that and there are no other counts then two sets of 5 flashes each, then about the only simple thing, that may not be picked up by the computer and coded, would be an egr valve that is stuck slightly ajar which leans out the mixture too much. So take a look at that valve and see if its stem moves back and forth freely, against spring-action which tries to close it in one direction. If it is sticky, then spray the valve stem where it enters the egr valve body. Write back with any results or questions and tell me which engine size you have.
