Chrysler Repair: 2000 Chrysler LHS keyless remote reprogramming, chrysler lhs, 2000 chrysler lhs

Question
I (by I, I mean my two year old) seemed to have misplaced one of my keyless entry remotes. I am concerned that it may be lost or stolen. I have a spare. Is there any way to reprogram the remote I have so that the other lost/stolen remote will no loner work?

Answer
Hi Tiffany,
The reprogramming would have to be done by the dealer using their diagnostic readout box, and I assume a new code can be requested (on the assumption that the codes are not hard-wired into the remote module). But I have heard they charge about $100 to program a new fob so that would probably be the price range. The only thing you can do yourself is program a new fob do be identical to the presently programmed fob if you want a second fob like the one you have. Let me know and I can tell you how to do that.
