Chrysler Repair: 2001 Sebring Window problem, overdraw, info thanks

Question
Roland,
Excellent info....thanks!!

I think we're on the right track here but I don't foresee being able to do these tests in the immediate future: too cold to take things apart & I am very busy now. I would like to replace that CB with a lower value (20a, 10a, etc.). Can you figure out how much current 1 window requires to operate? Also, what might the average current be thru the Main Fuse for the other 3 ckts that it feeds? Perhaps I can avoid the Main fuse blowing (for now) by putting in a Window CB that will blow 1st when the short occurs, but not when 1 window is operated. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Andy,
The Cirrus/Status/Breeze models use a 20 Amp CB so normal draw should not blow it, but perhaps whatever is causing the overdraw would pop a 20 CB before it blows fuse 1. I don't have any figures for the typical draw of the other three fuses, but another fuse-sparing technique would be to limit the heater/ac blower to medium speed if possible as that is the largest other circuit on fuse #1.
