Chrysler Repair: Memory seat module, seat mechanism, chrysler pacifica

Question
The front seats stopped working in my Daughters 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I took the seat out and removed the module and popped it open. I found a small copper strap inside that had partially melted to cause an open circuit. Is that some sort of fuse that can be replaced? The seat is currently all the way back, so it is impossible for her to drive it safety in that position. I thought of jumping the strap so I could move the seat, but thought I would ask here first.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Answer
Hi Dave,
That may be a safety interlock that is called into play when the seat is moved to the extreme ends of its track. I would give it a try as you have nothing to lose. As I read the manual, they don't sell parts for the seat mechanism so it may be the only 'fix'. She would have to avoid driving it too far in the future if it works again. Please let me know what you learn.
