Chrysler Repair: 93 LH Concorde fuel supply problem, alignment marks, quick disconnect fittings

Question
sprayed ether into the manifold and the car started. how do I check the fuel filter and if its not that could you give me instructions on changing the fuel pump? Thank you Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
The fuel filter is on the frame rail in front of the tank. You will need to disconnect the quick disconnect fittings to separate it from the fuel lines. If that doesn't solve the problem then consider replacing the pump.
When you turn the key to 'run' position do you hear the humm of the fuel pump coming from inside the tank for about 1 second? If not then I would believe it is the pump, because if the engine will start and run with starter fluid then there should be power to the fuel pump, though you should check that before you replace it.
The access is via a cover located on the floor of the trunk comparment. Remove the 4 bolts to take off the cover. Disconnect electrical connector. Disconnect fuel fittings from pump. Disconnect hose from pressure relief/rollover valve. Remove band clamp that fixes the pump to the tank until pump rises up from tank. Be careful not to spill fuel that is contained in the pump. Put towels around the opening. Tilt the pump backwards as you lift it out to drain fuel from its reservoir into the tank. Tilt module to one side so that float lever clears the opening of the tank while removing pump. Remove module and gasket. Notice alignment marks of pump top and opening of tank for reinstall.
