Chrysler Repair: Valve Timing noise: 2.7L engine, crank shaft, cam sprockets

Question
I have just finished rebuilding a 2.7 Chrysler Sebring engine (bottom and top) I am getting ready to install in the car but thought I would rotate the crank a few time to ensure every thing was ok. When I rotate the crank I am hearing a slight pop/ticking noise at least two times per revolution. Is this normal or did I mess something up?

Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hi Bob,
My thought would be to take a look at the timing chain marks on the cam sprockets and the crank shaft sprocket once again to make sure they are all lined up with their marks, though that shouldn't really have changed from when you first set it up, so if it is a hassle, don't bother. It is noted in the manual that there will be a bit of noise from the tensioner assembly at the time you start the engine the first time, but it should disappear in 5-10 seconds, so that may be what you are hearing now, in slow motion!. Also, did you follow the instruction for the tensioner reset procedure using the special tool,  and did you verify that it was armed (that the tensioner arm extended) after first gently prying the tensioner arm toward the tensioner so as to allow it to arm?
