Chrysler Repair: 1993 Chrysler Concorde 3.3: stalls/shakes, 1993 chrysler concorde, chrysler concorde

Question
QUESTION: When driving at @ amphora, in D, RPM 1000 -1500, strong vibration starts. Feels like from transmission. Put in 2nd, vibration stops. Had issue other day when start up, put car in R or D and it immediately stalled. Had to hold on gas to get the car to stay running. Also maybe feeling a possible miss

ANSWER: Hi Bill,
I need to separate the engine from the drivetrain, if possible, as to where the issue is. Use your ignition key to get the fault codes from the engine controller:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause, then repeat the process to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Then write back with the counts in the order of appearance.
The stall when going in park or reverse sounds perhaps like the torque converter lock-up may not be unlocking. But let me know about that aspect if it happens again. It is as if you tried to shift and 'popped' your clutch in the good old days.

QUESTION: The only code that comes up is 5 5

After engine is warm, idle speed is just over 500 rpm.
Maybe not connected with problem, but heater/AC has odor to it now when running
Thank you very much for your help

Answer
Hi Bill,
The 55 code means there are no engine faults...it says simply 'end of readout'.
So the problem may be with the tranmission (for which there is also a fault code readout via a socket to the right of the steering column under the dash, which will require use of an OBD-I reader and a 6-pin Chrysler data link connector plug to mate with it) or because of the odor (does it smell like coolant?) in the cabin which may be a heater core leak (is the rug under the dash wet?) which has perhaps then caused a loss of coolant and engine overheating?
It will require some more diagnosis and observation about what happens when it happens possibly as well. Let me know if you get more clues. But from here I can't be sure of anything specific on what I know so far.
