Volvo: Brake lights, brake light switch, fuse box

My brake lights went out and its not the bulbs (replaced both). Also, the abs light comes on every once in a while but turns off after a couple of minutes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Test for power at the brake light switch power at both sides pushing on the pedal. If that checks out go to the bulb out relay see if the brake light power goes to the relay and then exits the relay on two or three wires then going to the brake lights. If no power at the brake light switch follow that back to the fuse box.
ABS depends on what year model you have, maybe dirty sensors, or bad control unit.
