Chrysler Repair: 88 new yorker digital dash, fuse block, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: hi, i have an 88 landau, and the digital dash completely lost power, along with the overhead console, and door lock..(doors still lock automatically when placed in gear)..
i tested all fuses, and the main dash fuse has no power on either pin..

is there a relay,or fusible link, that goes from power source,to the dash fuse block?
what i'm thinking to try, is to jump a wire from an accessory that is operating, over to the input side of the dead circuit,so that it is still protected from burning anything up..
does that sound like a plan,or do you think its too risky to attempt?

any help is greatly appreciated!  Wes..

ANSWER: Hi Wes,
According to the manual, the power door lock system runs on the circuit breaker in fuse box position #15 so try to reset that breaker. The cluster uses fuse #8 which gets its power off the ignition switch similarly with the evic which uses power from the 'engine node' that comes off pin I on a dark blue wire at the ignition switch in the run position and powers many other things as well. There are some fusible links going back toward the battery which might be the cause too, but I would expect if that were the case you might have even more 'out'. Have you checked foe other things that might not be working (like headlamps)?
An alternative is a 'open' common ground for theses, but I don't see a single common ground tieing them together, yet.

QUESTION: how do you reset these breakers? to experiment,i pulled 8,and 15, and tried a regular fuse, with no change..

right now, the interior lights, overhead display, door locks, seem to be the only affected things.. everything else seems to be intact..

also, i had tested all fuses w a test light, and i couldn't get power from either slot on #8 ? one side,or the other should have the incoming voltage, but neither has power..

i also had diconnected the battery, to reset the system, but it made no change..

Answer
Hi Wes,
Fuse #8 is powered out of the ignition switch in the 'run and the start' positions, on a dark blue wire at pin I. It also powers the body computer so that may be another reason for a variety of issues. Power to the ignition switch for that section of it arrives on a red wire at pin B1.
So remove the shrouds on the column and check for the input to the switch.
The fusible link that protects that overall circuit is orange, and would be found in a harness of several such fusibles behind the battery. Pull on each end of the link to see if it separates as a test of ite patenecy, or measure with an ohm/continuity meter. The interior lights (if by that you mean the courtesy lights) also are protectec by a fusible link, same orange in color at that same harness (but not the same fusible as to the ignition switch). The fusibles harness is powered off the torpedo-shaped disconnect behind the battery. The circuit breaker may be ok because the door locks need the body computer to work as well as the c.b., and fuse #8 supply to the b.c. has to be present for that.
