Chrysler Repair: 04 Pacifica: Rear DVD Headphones, wiring diagrams, bobbie

Question
I bought a used Pacifica with the rear DVD, but it had no headphones.  I purchased a set through Chrysler and could never make them work.  They tried also and could not get them to work. I then purchased a set that came with a remote, thinking it had to be "mated" with a certain remote ??  Anyway, still no luck.  Do you have any idea how to make them work?

Answer
Hi Bobbie,
The shop manual didn't discuss the headphone feature. I looked at the wiring diagrams and find that there is a wire between the DVD screen and the DVD/CD control unit that is called 'Headphone ir transmitter enable' and also wires that carry the signal to the left and right side headphones. So there would seem to be some sort of on-off (thus the 'enable' wire) switch on the control unit that turns on the headphones at the screen. I would try to get a copy of the owner's manual for the unit where it might explain how to do the headphone enable action.
I give you pin numbers at the plug of each of the two units and the colors of the wires if you want to verify that the connections are patent between the two units.
