Answer
Hi Brenda,
The quickest way to diagnose the problem is with your ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains 'on', to see it begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat the process to be sure of an accurate set of flash counts. Then let me know the counts in the order of appearance and we'll go from there. The last two counts are always 5 each and that means 'end of readout'. We will get from that numbers which are 'codes' related to what is wrong with the engine. Then I can tell you what to do to fix it.
Of course the battery efficiency drops with the temperature also, so if you have a plug-in battery charger that might be helpful, or try to start it again when it is warmer. But try not to run the battery down until we can figure out the problem. Also, tell me which size of engine you have just in case that is important. It is either 3.3 or 3.5L
