Chrysler Repair: 97 Intrepid will not start, fuel air mixture, crank sensor

just wanted to know if i'm doing something wrong. 97 intrepid stoped running monday night so i test for spark no spark so towed the car home tested with scantool no rpm range so i replaced crank sensor. tried to start the car still no spark changed asd relay got spark but still will not start. rescanned the car had cam sensor code replaced cam sensor still not starting. pulled the plugs they were soaked with fuel so changed the plugs out checked the fuel rail to make sure i had pressure and did have proper fuel pressure i'm at my witts end on this car. need help

Hi Tim,
Did you disconnect the battery to erase all the earlier codes, and then try to start it and see what the present codes are? If not, do that.
Because you have fuel pressure (and it would be good nonetheless to be sure that you also have spark) the major possibility would be compression (say for example if the timing belt (only relevant if this is a 3.5L engine) were broken (if you have a 3.5 inspect the cam sproket/belt for motion by removing the cast metal inspection cover on the front of the left cylinder banks); the minor possibility is a fuel/air mixture issue.
One of the more overlooked possibilities is that the egr valve is stuck ajar which will make the mixture too lean to start it. Locate the egr valve under the throttle body area, and try moving the valve stem via a slot in that stem, back and forth and make sure that the internal spring-action causes the stem to move to a dead stop point on its own. If not, lubricate the stem where it enters the vavle body. You will see the stem between the round vacuum actuator and the valve body, hidden by a saddle-like flange.
