Chrysler Repair: outside temperature gauge: T&C, question pool, temperature gauge

Question
Just bought a chrysler 2000 lx town and country and the console above the front seat gives you outside temperature its not reading correctly when the temperature is above 0 it reads in the negative how can i fix it thank you  tom

Answer
Hi Tom,
The sensor is on the lower radiator crossmember under the van. You would want to raise it and support it on a stand(s) and look behind the bumper fascia for it, about mid-line on the member and held there by a screw. It has two wires, black/light blue and violet/light green and those go to pins 2 and 5 of the overhead console should you want to check out the wiring for an open or a short to ground. The sensor ground wire is the black/light blue so it may appear to be shorted normally. the other is the signal wire for the temp reading.
