Chrysler Repair: 2000 Dodge Stratus trans, solenoid pack, dodge stratus

Kevin, My daughter has a 2000 Dodge Stratus that will not shift out of first gear.  Her husband had the solenoid pack changed by the local dealership.  Still has the same problem.  I am a long time GM mechanic and would like to fix it.  Are there any valves that are used in shifting, or is it only solenoids?

give me some back ground   did u tell the dealer to replace the sol pack or did u have them do a diog on it and that is what they found? What are the codes from the check engine light?
And FYI it would be stuck in 2nd gear its called limp in mode it will stay in 2nd so the tranny and engine are not damaged.
