Chrysler Repair: JEEP STALLING WHILE RUNNING, crankshaft position sensor, crank sensor

Question
QUESTION: HEY ROLAND..HAVE YOU HEARD OF JEEP'S DYING WHILE RUNNING..IM SURE YOU HAVE..IVE TRIED EVERYTHING I HAVE READ BUT STILL DOING IT...CAM SENSOR CRANK,TPS..EVEN DID A/C COMPRESSOR WITH NEW BELT..EVEN BACKED OFF SCREWS TO PCM HEARD THEY WERE TO LONG..NOW WHAT?

ANSWER: Hi Todd.
Any fault codes?  Let me know any codes you get.  Try the ignition key "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time, then watch for codes on the odometer window, or if pre-97 count the flashes of the check engine light and let me know them order. Any chance it is the ignition switch being flaky? What is the year?

QUESTION: hey roland...went outside this is what i saw...12 10 19 11 55 check engine light flashed five times...i already had a coil and cat code..this problem is all over the internet many people coming up with no results..the stalling problem eith nothing giving real codes

Answer
Hi Todd,
I only have the Chrysler vehicle code list and three of them are on it: the 12 means battery disconnected recently, the 11 means the crank sensor signal was missing in action, and the 55 means end of readout. How did you get a 10 code? Maybe a mis-read of the 10 and 19 as neither of those are valid codes. Were all these based on the flashing of the check engine light or were they on the odometer?  If the engine dies, won't start, but then after a few minutes will start then I would suspect the crankshaft position sensor is going bad. It behaves that way when it gets hot, quits, cools, runs again, quits again, etc. But I guess you say you replaced that already! Did you get these codes after a recent battery disconnect? If not, try that as some of them may be stale. Try jiggling the ignition key just for fun.
