Chrysler Repair: 2001 LHS Seat back, recliner mechanism, reclined position

Question
I was leaning back in my seat today while at a stop sign and the seat back broke and now cannot stay upright.  I pull it up and it just flops right back to a fully reclined position and cannot lock into place.  Can you tell me what is entailed in repairing this and what kind of cost am I looking at?

Thanks!

Your help is most appreciated, Mike

Hi Mike,
Earlier this month I answered your question about your car and hope that is is repaired now. I have a favor to ask:
I am competing to be recognized as 'volunteer of the month' at this site. Would take a moment to click on the "Thank/rate the expert" button below?  You will then see a question which asks whether to nominate me for that award. If you then click on "yes" that would give me another vote. Thank you for your help.

Hi Mike,
Without knowing what part broke it is not possible tell you what will be needed to repair the seat. It could be a couple of bolts, or the recliner mechanism, or the seat back structural members. I do have the '99 and '04 manuals that show slightly different structural design. If you would like to repair this yourself please find out from a dealer parts counter which of those two years has a seat like in your '01. I can then xerox and postal mail you the pages that show how to take it apart for inspection/repair.
