Chrysler Repair: 1990 Chrysler Lebaron Tach, 1990 chrysler lebaron, chrysler lebaron

Question
Hello, My Chrysler LeBaron has a tachometer that is very tired. Only on occasion does it decide to work. I just recently fixed this striped gear in my odometer and while i was there I replaced that metal can thing (with all that copper inside) with another tested working one, and it is still intermittent, The car runs great no codes, I read on (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Chrysler-Repair-807/1992-LeBaron-Intermittent-tachome...) that this guy had a similar problem and was able to replace that chip on the corner of the instrument cluster. where can I buy that chip, if i even can anymore. Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Kyle,
You are looking for a 'tachometer drive module' and I would start at a dealership. Failing that I suspect you will need to try a pull-it-yourself yard. There is a shop in Canada that repairs digital clusters which are of course different but you could check them out at 519-972-0667.
